Development of National Curriculum for Tour Guides.
There has been several initiatives by the Government and other stakeholders in the tourism industry to develop a National Curriculum for Tour guides and put it in place. PROTS participated in most of these initiatives. It is therefore a great relief to us to see this particular initiative going to the extent of being validated by NACTE .

The Team:

The team that was assigned the job and completed the required two levels. - level 4 and level 5, comprised of three experts as follows:
  • Mr. Abbas . M. Mohamed, Chief Academic Officer from Zanzibar Institute for Tourism Development.
  • Bi. Maryam Ali Mussa, Tutor from Zanzibar Institute for Tourism Development.
  • Mr. Vedasto Izoba, Principal from The Professional Tour Guide School - PROTS.
  • Under supervision of Mr. Allan McGuigan from GOPA Consultants.

The venue was at offices of the Ministry of Natural resources and Tourism - Waterfront House, Dar-es-Salaam.

Veronica Mushi made sure we were well fed, with so much tea, coffee and plenty of biscuits.
