At the end of this page we have published details of students who benefited from this page. And their big smile photos when receiving their sponsorships.
This is a very important page to us and our students who are in urgent need of financial assistance. Many a time we get very good students who are really in need of financial assistance and are in danger of dropping out of school. To understand this, think of two scenarios:
One: When you cook and go out and look for people who are hungry and
Two: When you have to cook because some people are hungry and really need to eat soon or else…
We are in situation two! This has made us open this SOS page that will not ONLY publish individual needs of each student but also his/her experiences, efforts and challenges that makes him/her qualify for that help.
The following students joined PROTS at different times and have been struggling to meet the financial requirements of the course with much difficulty.

Comments by Principal:
We support Amidah's application for financial help because since she joined this college she has displayed a lot of enthusiasm and vigor. She studied for a few months but stopped because of lack of School fees because her sponsor (probably a suitor!) refused to pay for her. But now she is back at PROTS and managed to pay for one month while she is seeking some financial assistance. Since she came back, she has already shown remarkable recovery and progress with achievements like recording Photo Commentaries and a project.
She is now working on a project - Documentary Hi-Lites. This requires her to watch Wildlife Documentaries and write commentaries she considers to be hi-lites of the documentary. In the process she will gain a lot of information that will be useful during her Professional Guiding Duties. She has chosen to specialize on Hugo van Lawick's documentaries made in Serengeti and other parts of Tanzania.
We are sure this will improve her knowledge and prove just how diligent she is. Any financial help will be highly appreciated.
Females here, are not given priority when it comes to education, esp. in Tour Guiding, and this is sad. But we at PROTS are working hard to change that by showing many examples of girls who are Professional Female Guides and are married and maintain their families.
Amidah needs USD 500 for the remaining school fees and another USD510 for her time in hostel for about 6 months that will see her through to graduation. Total USD1010. This could be paid in installments, if need be.
Thanks.

Sinyat joined PROTS with very high expectations.

We will be publishing her details of her stay here and what she achieved, soon.
